The safety of nurses from workplace-related injuries and illnesses is important to nurses themselves as well as to the patients they serve. Many nurses also face a growing problem across the nation: nurse abuse and violence against nurses. According to the American Nurses Association, 1 in 4 nurses have been assaulted at work.
